The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Mount; 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 on wide-open scrolls. 3 by the much-frequented House, 4 And the elevated canopy 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 There shall be none to avert it; 8 On the day when the heaven will heave with (awful) heaving, 9 And the mountains will fly hither and thither. 10 Then woe, that Day, to the deniers, 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 On that Day when they shall be pitched into the Fire of Gehenna (Hell), 13 (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." 19 The God-fearing shall be reclining on couches facing each other, and We shall wed them to maidens with large, beautiful eyes. 20 And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned. 21 And We provide them with fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup, free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vague talk between them), and free from sin (because it will be legal for them to drink). 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 But God has granted us favors and saved us from the scorching heat of the torment. 27 we were before ever calling upon Him; surely He is the All-benign, the All-compassionate.' 28
