(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. 29 Or do they say:- "A Poet! we await for him some calamity (hatched) by Time!" 30 Tell them: "Keep on expecting, I am expecting with you." 31 Do their minds prompt them to say such things, or are they a people immersed in transgression?” 32 Or do they say: "He (Muhammad SAW) has forged it (this Quran)?" Nay! They believe not! 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 Or are the Treasures of thy Lord with them, or are they the managers (of affairs)? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or askest thou them for a wage, and so they are weighed down with debt? 40 Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Is theirs a god beside Allah? Hallowed be Allah from that which they associate! 43 Even if they saw lumps falling from the sky they would say: 'A massed cloud' 44 Leave them then till they meet that day of theirs wherein they shall be made to swoon (with terror): 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 Extol His glory at night, and at the setting of the stars. 49
