The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then he mustered 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
