Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Enjoin them their understandings to this? or are they a people conumacious? 32 Do they say, "He has falsely invented it (the Quran)?" In fact, they themselves have no faith. 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Do they have knowledge of the unseen, thus, are able to predict (the future)? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. 45 A day in which their guile will naught avail them, nor will they be helped. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is a punishment beyond that. But most of them know not. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
