So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Does their reasoning prompt them to this, or they are a people rebellious? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain. 36 Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like? 37 Or have they a ladder by which they could [ascend to ultimate truths and] listen [to what is beyond the reach of human perception]? Let, then, any of them who have listened [to it] produce a manifest proof [of his knowledge]! 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islamic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt? 40 Or is it that they have access to (the Truths in) the realm beyond sense-perception which they are writing down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 If they should see a part of the heavens falling down, they would say, "A mass of clouds," 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
