▼ 52 The Mountain
Al-Toor 2 of 2
Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 If they say, "He is but a poet; we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him," 30 Tell them: “Wait; I too am waiting with you.” 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Or do they have the treasures of your Lord, or are they the authority? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 Do the daughters belong to Him and the sons to you? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is almost within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 41 Or do they desire a war? But those who disbelieve shall be the vanquished ones in war. 42 Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 Then leave them, till they encounter their day wherein they shall be thunderstruck, 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 But, verily, for those who are bent on doing evil, there is suffering in store [even] closer at hand than that [supreme suffering in the hereafter]: but most of them are not aware of it. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad SAW) for the Decision of your Lord, for verily, you are under Our Eyes, and glorify the Praises of your Lord when you get up from sleep. 48 And glorify Him in the night and when the stars begin to wane. 49

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
