Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 Thamud, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
