(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
