(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
