Seest thou one who turns back, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
