The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
The Hour of Doom is drawing near and the moon is rent asunder. 1 But if they [who reject all thought of the Last Hour] were to see a sign [of its approach,] they would turn aside and say: "An ever-recurring delusion!" 2 And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement. 3 And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - 4 Perfect wisdom (this Quran), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not, 5 (Muhammad), leave them alone. On the day when they will be called to a terrible punishment, 6 They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts. 7 These disbelievers will say, "This is a hard day". 8 ۞ Before these, the people of Nooh denied and they belied Our bondman and said, “He is a madman” and rebuffed him. 9 Thereupon he called out to his Sustainer, "Verily, I am defeated; come Thou, then, to my succour!" 10 So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth. 11 And caused springs to gush out from the earth, so that the two waters met totalling a quantity that had been destined. 12 And We bare him on a thing of planks and nails. 13 Moving forward under Our eyes: a requital for him who had been rejected. 14 And assuredly We left it for a sign. Is there then anyone who would be admonished? 15 So how did My punishment turn out, and My threats? 16 We have made this Qur'an easy as a reminder. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 17 The 'Ad (people) (too) rejected (Truth): then how terrible was My Penalty and My Warning? 18 Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity, 19 and snatched people up as though they were stumps of uprooted palmtrees. 20 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 21 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 22

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
