The tribe of Thamud also rejected Our warnings: 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 How is it that he has received guidance? In fact, he is the most untruthfull and arrogant person". 25 (To him We said): 'Tomorrow they shall know who is the arrogant liar. 26 We are sending to them as a trial, a shecamel, so watch them and have patience. 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 But they called their companion who took a sword and hamstrung her. 29 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 30 Indeed We sent upon them a single Scream – thereupon they became like the barrier builder’s residual dry trampled hay. 31 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 32 The people of Lot rejected the warnings. 33 Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, 34 a blessing from Us; even so We recompense him who is thankful. 35 He had warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warnings. 36 Then they even solicited his guests from him, whereupon We blotted out their eyes, (telling them): “Now have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings.” 37 Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them: 38 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 39 And certainly We have made the Quran easy for remembrance, but is there anyone who will mind? 40
