Thamood, too, belied Our warnings. 23 For they said; Is it a mortal man, alone among us, that we are to follow? Then indeed we should fall into error and madness. 24 Was he the one of all of us to have been given the exposition? He is surely an impudent liar." 25 [We said to him] "Tomorrow they shall know who is the boastful liar, 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And declare thou unto them that water hath been divided between them; every drinking shall be by turns. 28 They called together their companions and agreed to slay the she-camel. 29 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 Indeed, We have made the Quran easy to learn lessons from. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 32 The people of Lut treated the warning. as a lie. 33 We sent a stone-hurtling storm against them, except the family of Lot whom We saved in the early hours of the morning 34 As a favour from Us. Thus We recompense him who giveth thanks. 35 And certainly he warned them of Our violent seizure, but they obstinately disputed the warning. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 And indeed, the everlasting punishment overcame them early in the morning. 38 We said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 39 We have made it easy indeed to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 40
