Thamood cried lies to the warnings 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Has the Reminder been cast upon him alone among us? Nay, rather he is an impudent liar.' 25 (To him We said): 'Tomorrow they shall know who is the arrogant liar. 26 for We are [going to] send the she-camel as a trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And inform them that the water is to be shared between (her and) them. Each one's right to drink being established (by turns). 28 Then they called their fellow, and he took the sword and hamstrung her, 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warning. 33 We sent down upon them a violent sandstorm (which destroyed them all) except for the family of Lot, whom We saved in the early morning by Our favor. 34 Thus do We recompense the grateful ones. 35 Surely Lot warned his people that We shall seize them (with Our chastisement), but they doubted the warnings. 36 They demanded that he turn over his guests to them. We struck their faces, blinded them and said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 37 And in truth the punishment decreed befell them early in the morning. 38 Now taste My punishment after My warnings! 39 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 40
