The warnings came to the people of Pharaoh. 41 but they belied all Our signs so We seized them with the seizing of the Mighty, Powerful. 42 Are your infidels better than these? Or is there an immunity for you in the Writs? 43 Or say they: We are a host victorious? 44 The army will be routed and put to flight. 45 Nay, but the Hour (of doom) is their appointed tryst, and the Hour will be more wretched and more bitter (than their earthly failure). 46 Surely the guilty are in error and distress. 47 The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces, (they will hear:) "Taste ye the touch of Hell!" 48 We have indeed created all things by a proper measure. 49 And Our Commandment is but one, as the twinkling of an eye. 50 We did indeed destroy many like you. Is there, then, any who will heed? 51 And all what they did is in the Books. 52 And every small and great [thing] is inscribed. 53 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and rivers, 54 In an Assembly of Truth, in the Presence of a Sovereign Omnipotent. 55
