The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are scheduled. 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has given freedom to the two great bodies of water, so that they might meet: 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
