The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
