The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 Out of them both come out pearl and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
