The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 And the herbs and the trees do prostrate (to Him). 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created the human from clay, like earthenware 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
