The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
