The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 25

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
