The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He has created man: 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships, towering on the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
