The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 on lavish couches 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 A recompense for that which they have been working. 24 Therein they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and continuous shade, 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 And plenty of fruits. 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
