The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains crumbled, 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 But the foremost shall be [they who in life were] the foremost [in faith and good works]: 10 Who will be honoured 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 carrying goblets and ewers and cups filled with the purest wine, 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 The reward for what they did. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 And spreading shade, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 We have created maidens perfectly 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
