The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the great event comes to pass, 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 So those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 on lavish couches 15 facing one another. 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 [They, too, will find themselves] amidst fruit laden lote-trees, 28 And banana-trees (with fruits), one above another. 29 and continuous shade, 30 and flowing water, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 And made them virginal, 36 chastely amorous, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
