The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 And you become [of] three kinds: 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In gardens of delight; 12 a large group of the early believers, 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 Immortal youths will wait upon them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 They shall recline on high amidst lote trees without thorns 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and shade extended, 30 And water everflowing. 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 and made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
