The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Degrading (some) and exalting (others); 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 Those! they shall be the brought nigh, 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of later ages, 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains: 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 Like pearls within their shells, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 Among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,- 29 And in everlasting shade. 30 And in perpetually flowing water. 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 and their spouses We shall have brought them into being afresh, 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
