▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A numerous company from among the first, 39 And a multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the later times (generations). 40 And those of the left hand, how wretched are those of the left hand! 41 [They will find themselves] in the midst of scorching winds, and burning despair, 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 which will neither be cool nor soothing. 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 and persisted in heinous sins. 46 And said: "What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised again? 47 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 48 Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples 49 "They will all be gathered together - on the appointed time of the known day." 50 Then you, you misguided ones, who deny the truth, 51 you will indeed have to taste of the tree of deadly fruit, 52 filling your bellies, with it 53 and will thereupon have to drink [many a draught] of burning despair 54 and you will drink as the lapping of thirsty camels. 55 This shall be their entertainment on the Day of Judgement. 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 Have you considered the seed? 58 Create him ye, or are We the Creator? 59 It is We Who have ordained death among you, and We have not been beaten - 60 To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not. 61 And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam), why then do you not remember or take heed? 62 Just ponder over what you sow: 63 Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? 64 Did We will, We would make it broken orts, and you would remain bitterly jesting -- 65 "We are ruined, 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 Have you considered the water you drink? 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 [It comes down sweet - but] were it Our will, We could make it burningly salty and bitter: why, then, do you not give thanks [unto Us]? 70 Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out; 71 Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 Then, exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
