Say: "O People of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: That we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with him; that we erect not, from among ourselves, Lords and patrons other than Allah." If then they turn back, say ye: "Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to Allah's Will). 64 O people of the Book, why dispute about Abraham? The Torah and the Gospel were sent down after him: Do you not understand? 65 Listen! This was what you argued about of which you have some knowledge why do you then argue about the matter you do not have any knowledge of? And Allah knows whereas you do not know. 66 Neither was Abraham a Jew nor a Christian, but upright and obedient, and not an idolater. 67 Verily the nearest of mankind to Ibrahim, surely those who followed him, and this prophet, and those who believe; and Allah is the Patron of the believers. 68 Some of the People of the Book wish to lead you astray but they only lead themselves astray, though they do not realise it. 69 O People of the Scripture, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while you witness [to their truth]? 70 People of the Book! Why do you mix truth with falsehood and knowingly conceal the truth? 71
