The Column (Al-Suff)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
All that is in the heavens and earth exalt Allah. He is the Almighty, the Wise. 1 O you who believe! why do you say that which you do not do? 2 Most hateful it is with Allah that you say that which you do not do. 3 Surely God loves those who fight in His cause in full formations as though they were a compact wall. 4 When Moses said to his people: "O my people, why do you afflict me though you know that I have been sent to you by God?" But when they turned aside God made their hearts turn farther away; for God does not show the transgressors the way. 5 And when Isa son of Marium said: O children of Israel! surely I am the apostle of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Taurat and giving the good news of an Apostle who will come after me, his name being Ahmad, but when he came to them with clear arguments they said: This is clear magic. 6 Who could be more wicked than one who invents lies about God when called to submit to Him? God does not guide the wrongdoers: 7 They wish to put out Allah’s light with their mouths, whereas Allah will perfect His light even if the disbelievers get annoyed. 8 It is He who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the true religion to stand supreme over all religions, even though the pagans may dislike it. 9
