Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed be He in whose hand is the Kingdom -- He is powerful over everything -- 1 Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 He Who created the seven heavens one above another: No want of proportion wilt thou see in the Creation of (Allah) Most Gracious. So turn thy vision again: seest thou any flaw? 3 Then turn your vision again, and then again; in the end your vision will come back to you, worn out and frustrated. 4 And indeed We have beautified the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them weapons against the devils, and have kept prepared for them the punishment of the blazing fire. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord (Allah) is the torment of Hell, and worst indeed is that destination. 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth. 7 as though it will burst with rage. Every time a multitude is cast into it, its keepers will ask them: “Did no warner come to you?” 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 They will further say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!" 10 Then they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire. 11 Surely those who fear their Lord in the Unseen -- there awaits them forgiveness and a great wage. 12 And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
