He it is Who made the earth subservient to you. So traverse in its tracks and partake of the sustenance He has provided. To Him will you be resurrected. 15 Are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not make the earth to swallow you up? Then lo! it shall be in a state of commotion. 16 Or do you feel secure that He who [holds authority] in the heaven would not send against you a storm of stones? Then you would know how [severe] was My warning. 17 Those who went before them belied [the truth]: then how great was My rejection of them. 18 Have they not seen the birds above them spreading out their wings and closing them? Naught upholdeth them save the Beneficent. Lo! He is Seer of all things. 19 Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion. 20 Who is he that can provide for you if He should withhold His provision? Nay, but they continue to be in pride, and (they) flee (from the truth). 21 What, is he who walks prone upon his face better guided than he who walks upright on a straight path? 22 Say, "It is He who brought you into being, and made ears and eyes and hearts for you, yet you are seldom grateful." 23 Say, "It is He who has multiplied you throughout the earth, and to Him you will be gathered." 24 And they say, “When will this promise come, if you are truthful?” 25 Say, "God knows best. I am only one who gives warning". 26 But when they see it drawing near, the faces of those who deny the truth will turn gloomy and they will be told, "This is what you were calling for." 27 Say: "Just think: If God destroys me and those with me, or is benevolent to us, who will then protect the unbelievers from a painful doom?" 28 Say thou: He is the Compassionate; in Him we have believed, and in Him we have put our trust. And anon ye will know who it is that is in error manifest. 29 Say, "Have you considered: if your water was to become sunken [into the earth], then who could bring you flowing water?" 30
