Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 So destroyed were the Thamud by a storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a high garden 22 Clusters whereof shall be near at hand. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 Nor known whatever was my reckoning! 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 Wherefore for him here this Day there is no friend. 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
