Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 Pharaoh and those before him and the people of the overturned habitations all engaged in the same great sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Indeed when the water swelled up, We boarded you onto the ship. 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 The heaven will be split; because on that Day it will be frail. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in a lofty Garden, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 But as for him who is given his record in his left hand, he will say: Oh, would that I had not been given my book 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 and our belief has destroyed us". 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 and then roast him in Hell, 31 Then, in a chain whereof the length is seventy Cubits, bind him. 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
