Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Reality? 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 so that We might make it an instructive event for you, and retentive ears might preserve its memory. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Oh! Would that the death that came to me in the world had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 He would not believe in Allah, the Most Great; 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 and no food except pus 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
