Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That Day shall ye be brought to Judgment: not an act of yours that ye hide will be hidden. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 Then he shall be in a life well-pleasing 21 in a lofty Garden 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 Nor did he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
