Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. 9 and they rebelled against the Messenger of their Lord, and He seized them with a surpassing grip. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that Day you will be brought to judgement and none of your secrets will remain hidden. 18 So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, "Here, read my record! 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 so he will live in a state of Bliss 21 in a lofty garden, 22 the clusters of whose fruit will be hanging low to be within reach (of the inmates of Paradise). 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 Oh, would that it had been the ending! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 Which none but sinners eat. 37
