What aileth those who disbelieve, that they keep staring toward thee (O Muhammad), open-eyed, 36 in crowds, both on the right and on the left? 37 Does every one of them hope to enter [by this means] a garden of bliss? 38 Not at all, for We have created them of what they know. 39 I do not need to swear by the Lord of the eastern and western regions that We have certainly all the power 40 to substitute a better than they; We shall not be outstripped. 41 so leave them to indulge in vain idle talk and amuse themselves, until they face the Day which they have been promised, 42 the Day when they rush out of their graves as if racing towards a signpost, 43 with downcast eyes, with ignominy overwhelming them: that Day which they were promised again and again 44
