Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his nation, saying: 'Give warning to your nation before a painful punishment overtakes them' 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 but the more I called, the farther they fled. 6 And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 and spoke to them in public and in private." 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 and will provide you with wealth and children, and will bestow upon you gardens and rivers. 12 What aileth you that ye expect not in Allah majesty! 13 seeing He created you by stages? 14 "'Do you not see how God has created seven heavens in full harmony with one another, 15 and has placed the moon in them as a light, and the sun as a radiant lamp? 16 "'And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]: 17 And afterward He maketh you return thereto, and He will bring you forth again, a (new) forthbringing. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse). 19 "'That ye may go about therein, in spacious roads.'" 20
