Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them. 1 He said, “O my people! I am indeed a Herald of clear warnings to you.” 2 Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 "And behold I called unto them openly; 8 then indeed I spoke publicly unto them, and I spoke unto them secretly, 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers. 12 What aileth you that ye expect not in Allah majesty! 13 And surely He hath created you by stages. 14 Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens, one above another, 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 ‘And it is Allah Who made you grow like vegetation from the earth.’ 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse 19 That you may go along therein in wide paths. 20
