Noah (Nooh)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Bee (Al-nahl) before Abraham (Ibrahim)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 Noah said, "My people, I am warning you plainly. 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: "O my Lord! Verily, I have called my people night and day (i.e. secretly and openly to accept the doctrine of Islamic Monotheism). 5 But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance; 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 “Then I also told them publicly and also spoke to them softly in private.” 9 And I said: ask forgiveness of your Lord; verily He is ever Most Forgiving. 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 And He will add unto you riches and children and will appoint unto you gardens and will appoint unto you rivers. 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 seeing that He has created [every one of] you in successive stages? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one upon the other, 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
