28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. 5 ‘And indeed some men among humans used to take the protection of some men among jinns, so it further increased their haughtiness.’ 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 "'And [so it happened] that we reached out towards heaven: but we found it filled with mighty guards and flames, 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 And that we know not whether evil is meant for those who are on earth or whether their Lord means to bring them good: 10 And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways. 11 "'And withal, we have come to know that we can never elude God [while we live] on earth, and that we can never elude Him by escaping [from life]. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 ‘And that some among us are Muslims and some are the unjust; and whoever has accepted Islam – it is they who have thought rightly.’ 14 But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.' 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
