Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 And verily we! we had imagined that humankind and jinn would never forge against Allah a lie. 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 And indeed they supposed, even as ye suppose, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead) - 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 We do not know whether by this arrangement God intends benefit and guidance for the people of the earth or only evil. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 And had they kept to the path surely We would have watered them with rain plenteous. 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 And the places of worship are only for Allah, so pray not unto anyone along with Allah. 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
