Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O THOU enwrapped one! 1 Stand up for worship during the night, except for some part of it. 2 Half of it - or subtract from it a little 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 We are about to cast upon you a weighty Word. 5 Surely getting up at night is the best means of subduing the self and is more suitable for uprightness in speech. 6 Indeed you have a lot of matters during the day. 7 And remember thou the name of thy Lord, and devote thyself to Him with an exclusive devotion. 8 (He Alone is) the Lord of the east and the west, La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). So take Him Alone as Wakil (Disposer of your affairs). 9 And bear thou with patience whatsoever they say, and depart from them with a becoming departure. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the deniers, who live a life of comfort, and bear with them a little longer. 11 We have fetters (for them) and a blazing fire, 12 food which chokes (them), and a painful torment. 13 On the day the earth and mountains will rock violently, and the mountains turn to a heap of poured-out sand. 14 We have sent an Apostle to you as a witness against you, as We had sent an apostle to the Pharaoh. 15 In response Firaun disobeyed the Noble Messenger, so We seized him with a severe seizure. 16 How, then, if you refuse to acknowledge the truth, will you protect yourselves on that Day which shall turn the hair of children grey, 17 The heaven shall rend asunder thereby; His promise is ever brought to fulfillment. 18 Surely this is a reminder, then let him, who will take the way to his Lord. 19
