The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Rise up and warn! 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 purify your garments; 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 For the unbelievers, anything but easy. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 And then bestowed upon him ample means, 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 And for whom I smoothed everything. 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he thought and he plotted -- 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 Again, death seized him, how was his determining! 20 Then he looked, 21 Then he frowned and scowled, 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 it scorches the skin; 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
