Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Whoever of you desires to progress or lag behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who will be in Paradise 40 From the guilty. 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 we fed not the needy, 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 Till the Inevitable came unto us. 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 No, indeed, surely, this is a Reminder. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
