NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
