NAY, but consider the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
