Nay, by the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About the guilty: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
