NAY, but consider the moon! 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
